Remembering the pain of Partition, Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani's tears welled up

Ajmer/ Jaipur, The horror of Partition at the time of independence of the country, migration of people of Sindh in large numbers, leaving their homes, land, wealth and everything, looting on the way, rape, mass murders and then living like a refugee in a new city, starting life again, being dependent on every penny, selling biscuits, clothes, vegetables, setting up a cart, studying, teaching and many more struggles. This is the picture of the Partition of India, which came to the fore again in the pictures and exhibition.

Recalling the poignant memories of Partition during the exhibition organized at the State Museum of Ajmer on Thursday on Partition Horror Remembrance Day, Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani also could not control himself and while speaking, his throat became choked and eyes welled up. The elderly present in the program also cried with him. The day was to remember the horrors of Partition and old pictures came to the fore in front of everyone present. The activities that took place during the Partition have been depicted through pictures in the exhibition.

Addressing the program organized on this occasion, Devnani said that this partition was not of our geographical part but of our culture and social soul. At that time, Bengal, Punjab and Sindh provinces were most affected by the Partition. Some part of Bengal and Punjab remained in India. Sindh was completely separated. This partition went beyond geographical boundaries and was of our cultural and social soul. The then leaders got the Partition done with the desire to gain leadership. The society should always remember the people guilty for this.

He said that the culture that forgets its history gets destroyed. History is the path-setter for the new generation. It is also necessary to tell the new generation about the pain of Partition. Only then will they realize that the achievement of today's generation is the result of the efforts of the old generation. At that time, India was chosen to protect Sanatan. They suffered atrocities. Trains loaded with dead bodies of Hindus were sent.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the tradition of celebrating Partition Horror Day. This is a true tribute to the people killed at that time. Akhand Bharat will definitely be formed. The words sung in the national anthem will keep inspiring us for this. Devnani announced that a gallery of India Partition will be built in the State Museum. This will give information to the visitors about the atrocities committed at that time. An amount of Rs 5 crore will be provided by the state government for the museum. Its approval has been issued. Its construction work will start soon. People can also give suggestions for this. Devnani said that when we left our house, shop, land, money and entire culture in Sindh and settled in new cities, we had nothing. We became refugees from landlords. But we did not give up. Sindhis are a hardworking community, we worked and progressed. Today Sindhi society has a big contribution in the country's economy. We are from the community that pays the highest income tax. We have always worked by considering the nation first. We will always work to protect Sanatan.

In the program, Ramesh Soni said that the Sindhi community has suffered the pain of partition. The leaders of that time did not tear the map apart but retaliated against the civilization of Sindh. To save lives, people had to leave their birthplace and civilization. Lakhs of people were killed. Hardworking people fell from the heights to the ground. The new generation should also be made aware of that heart-rending scene. Organization in-charge Viram Dev Singh said that millions of lives were lost due to the partition of India. The selfishness of the leaders of that time is responsible for this. There was a massacre of Hindus. The present nationalist governments are telling the new generation about the atrocities of that time through Partition Horrors Day. NREGA Lokpal Shri Suresh Sindhi said that the partition of India was unfortunate. Zamindars and Seths were selling balloons the next day.
