Successful Non-Surgical Heart Treatment at PIMS Hospital

Udaipur – A remarkable medical achievement was recorded at Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Umarda, where doctors successfully treated a four-year-old child’s congenital heart defect without open-heart surgery.

Chairman Ashish Agrawal informed that under the Chiranjeevi Yojana, the procedure was performed free of cost by Senior Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Mahesh Jain and his team. The child was suffering from a condition known as Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), in which a passage between two main arteries of the heart remains open instead of closing naturally after birth.

Dr. Jain explained that PDA patients often face breathing difficulties, dizziness, weakness, and poor physical growth. The team employed the advanced PDA Device Closure technique, using an umbrella-shaped device with two discs and a tubular connector that is inserted through a catheter to seal the defect.

Supporting the procedure were Cardiac Anesthetist Dr. Vipin Sisodia and CTVS Surgeon Dr. Vivek Rawat. The successful treatment highlights PIMS Hospital’s expertise in advanced cardiology and its commitment to providing modern healthcare facilities to patients.
