Dr Deepak Shrivastava
An evening filled with emotion, creativity, and cultural depth unfolded on 27th July 2025, as I had the privilege of attending a remarkable theatrical event organized by Rangitika Sansthan, Kota. As a specially invited guest in the symbolic role of Jātaveda (representing the fire element), it was an honor to witness the stage come alive with purpose and passion.
The play “Jalan Se Jal Tarang”, written and enacted by the brilliant Actor Ram Sharma "Kaparen’, was more than a performance — it was a mirror to society’s silence, its struggles, and its strength. His presence on stage as the father was both powerful and poignantly relatable.
Himani Sharma, as the mother, delivered a performance that captured the quiet suffering and strength of a woman with graceful authenticity.
But the heart and soul of the play was the much-blessed and gifted young actress Nimbo (Lavanya Joshi), whose portrayal of Nimisha, an acid attack survivor, was deeply moving and spiritually stirring. Her performance didn’t just reflect pain — it transformed it into a message of hope, courage, and societal awakening. She was undoubtedly the centre of attraction and the emotional anchor of the entire presentation.
The direction by Smt. Snehlata Sharma brought artistic clarity and emotional layering to the narrative. The lighting by Anu Singh Dhadak, the music by Mantra Dadhich, and the visual coordination through makeup and stage management were seamless and full of dedication. The soulful musical support by senior theatre artist Ashwatthama Dadheech elevated key moments of the play to a transcendent level.
What made this event even more special was the innovative concept of honoring guests not by conventional titles but through the five elements – Water, Sky, Fire, Air, and Earth. This Panchatatva-based framework not only rooted the event in Indian cultural tradition but also gave a profound spiritual touch to the roles each guest represented. I felt deeply humbled to be part of this conceptual expression as Jātaveda – the essence of transformative fire and conscious energy.
My heartfelt compliments to Rangitika Sansthan and Smt. Snehlata Sharma for curating such a powerful and socially relevant presentation. This event was not just a celebration of art, but a call to conscience and collective reflection.
When theatre transcends entertainment and touches the soul, it becomes a fifth Veda. And this evening truly felt like that.
