Rajasthan Chess Association Secretary Ashok Bhargava Suspended,

Udaipur,The Special General Meeting of the Rajasthan Chess Association was held in Bikaner under the chairmanship of Mahavir Ranka in two sessions.

Indra Kumar Prajapat, Secretary of the Udaipur District Chess Association, informed that the first session commenced at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Bikaner office of the Rajasthan Chess Association, under the chairmanship of Mahavir Ranka, with the presence of representatives from various district associations affiliated with the Rajasthan Chess Association and the special presence of the Association's President, Mahavir Ranka, and Lokpal retired Judge Mahesh Sharma. Eighteen district associations and six newly formed district associations participated in the general meeting. The meeting primarily confirmed the appointment of Ashok Bhargava, Jaipur, as the Secretary and Vinay Sharma as the Acting Secretary. It should be noted that Ashok Bhargava, the former Secretary, was suspended on March 26, 2024, over allegations of irregularities and unconstitutional activities. No clarification has been provided yet regarding these allegations.

To initiate the proceedings of the first meeting, Chairman Ranka assigned the responsibilities of Acting Secretary to Vinesh Sharma from Nagaur. The meeting, chaired by Acting Secretary Vinesh Sharma, approved the proposals presented during the special-invitee meeting held on February 19, 2024, and formed various committees, making decisions on several important proposals with unanimous consent.

During the second session of the General Assembly, all representatives of the district associations of the Rajasthan Chess Association present in Bikaner welcomed and congratulated Mahavir Ranka on being unanimously elected as the National Vice President of the All India Chess Federation (AICF), presenting him with a shawl and the symbol of victory, the "Victory-Pillar" emblem.

At the meeting, the official new website of the Rajasthan Chess Association, "Rajasthan Chess Dot In," created by Indra Kumar Prajapat of the Udaipur Association, was inaugurated by AICF National Vice President and retired Judge Mahesh Sharma. This website will provide information about all activities of the Rajasthan Chess Association, competitions, magazines, complaint desks for players' problems, and complete information about all authorized district associations.

The book "Thoughts of World Chess Champions," written by Arena FIDE Master Syed Athar Abbas Kazmi of Ajmer, was launched by Mahavir Ranka, President of the Rajasthan Chess Association, and AICF National Vice President. This book will soon be available for free on the official website of the Rajasthan Chess Association, "Rajasthan Chess Dot In," enabling any player to learn better techniques for playing their game.

Several dignitaries attended the Special General Assembly meeting, including Lokpal Mahesh Sharma, Advocates Shankar Lal Harsh and Shailendra Gupta, along with representatives from various district associations like Anil Bodha from Bikaner, Kailash Chandra Dad from Sirohi, Satyanarayan Purohit from Bhilwara, Vinesh Sharma from Nagaur, Dilip Bhojak from Udaipur, Nilesh Baldwa from Chittorgarh, Athar Abbas Kazmi from Ajmer, Ravindra Singh Sisodia from Jodhpur, and representatives from Jaipur, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jhunjhunu, Churu, Pali, Jalore, among many others.
