####Birth Anniversary of Padma Shri Dr. Ranganathan, National Librarian’s Day, and International Youth Day Celebrated

Udaipur – The Department of Library and Information Science at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, under the aegis of the Red Ribbon Club, celebrated the birth anniversary of Padma Shri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan with great enthusiasm as part of the National Librarian’s Day celebrations.

In his address, the Acting Head of the Department highlighted that Dr. Ranganathan’s life is itself a source of inspiration. He emphasised that the key to a bright future lies in the black letters of books, and therefore, dissemination of information should reach students, researchers, and the general public for the betterment of society and the nation.

On the occasion of International Youth Day, Dr. P. S. Rajput, Coordinator of the University Red Ribbon Club, announced that debate, speech, poster-making, poetry recitation, and quiz competitions were organised, with a total of 58 participants. Four students from the Department of Fashion Technology & Design represented the university at a global Handloom Day event and were honoured by the Red Ribbon Club.

Chief Guest Dr. Dolly Mogra of the Department of Fashion Technology & Design extended her best wishes to the youth, stating that the role of young people is the most vital in a nation’s progress.

Various teams competed during the event, with Team Ranganathan securing first place in the debate competition. All winners and runners-up were presented with mementoes by Special Guest Dr. Bheemraj Patel from the University Sports Board.

The celebration was attended by Dr. Dolly Mogra, Dr. Rajaram Bhat from the Central Library, faculty members, research scholars, and students including Jitendra Suhalka, Yanti Raj, Jitendra Meghwal, Mahendra Patel, and Narayan Salvi, along with the entire student body of the department.
