Udaipur, Sanjay Sharma, Minister for Forest, Environment and Climate Change, and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, reviewed the progress of departmental schemes, budget announcements, and the Hariyalo Rajasthan campaign in a meeting held at the Zila Parishad auditorium. He stressed that connecting villagers with forests is essential for maintaining ecological balance.
The meeting, attended by MLAs, the District Collector, and various departmental officials, discussed ongoing works under CAMPA, RFBC, NABARD, and State funds, as well as bamboo harvesting, wildlife census, and nursery plant production. Under the Hariyalo Rajasthan campaign, Udaipur district has planted 38.65 lakh saplings against the target of 44 lakh, ranking third in the state.
The Minister instructed officials to promote the portal facility allowing citizens to upload plantation selfies and receive digital certificates. He expressed displeasure over delays in the investigation of fallen fencing at Sajjangarh Lion Safari and directed prompt action with accountability. He also called for speeding up work on the Amarkh Mahadev Leopard Safari, increasing small animal populations in forests, expediting pending compensation cases, and ensuring transparency in the formation of Village Forest Development and Management Committees.
