79th Independence Day Celebrated with Grandeur at State Central Library, Kota

Kota, The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and dignity at the State Central Library, Kota. The flag hoisting was conducted by the Chief Guest, Dr. Nitin Sharma (Physiotherapist). The program was presided over by environmentalist Ramesh Chauhan, while Advocate Narendra Sharma served as the Special Guest and Madhusudan Sharma, Library President of Geetanjali Medical College, Kota, was the Guest of Honour. The stage was conducted by veteran reader K.B. Dixit, and program management was efficiently handled by Ajay Saxena, Rohit Nama, and Ram Niwas Dhakad.

On this occasion, Home Guard volunteers, the night watchman, and distinguished library staff members were honoured for their dedicated service. The Guard of Honour was presented by Yatish Saxena and Chhitar Lal.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava (Divisional Librarian and Nodal Officer, Public Library, Kota) stated that Independence Day is not merely a flag-hoisting event but also an opportunity for self-reflection on how sincerely we fulfill our duties as citizens. He emphasized that libraries are centers of public awakening, education, and cultural growth, and must be further strengthened for the coming generations.

Chief Guest Dr. Nitin Sharma stressed that while citizens often demand their rights, they tend to forget their duties. He underlined that a healthy body and an aware mind are the true strength of the nation.

Presiding over the function, Ramesh Chauhan said that independence is not limited to political freedom but also carries the responsibility of protecting the environment, social values, and human sensitivities.
Special Guest Advocate Narendra Sharma highlighted the balance of rights and duties enshrined in the Constitution.
Guest of Honour Madhusudan Sharma remarked that a library is not just a collection of books but a confluence of ideas, where readers gain knowledge as well as national consciousness.

The ceremony also included patriotic songs, poems, and discussions, offering heartfelt tributes to the freedom fighters. The event concluded with the National Anthem, where all participants resolved to build a prosperous, strong, and knowledge-based India.
