Udaipur Grappling Team Wins 22 Medals Including 8 Gold at State Championship

 

Udaipur,The Udaipur Grappling Wrestling team delivered an outstanding performance at the 5th Rajasthan State-Level Grappling Wrestling Championship (Sub-Junior & Cadet categories) held recently at Chaugan Stadium, Jaipur. The team brought home a total of 22 medals, including 8 gold, making Mewar proud.

According to Tushar Mehta, Secretary of the Udaipur Grappling Wrestling Committee, the event was organized under the aegis of the Grappling Committee of India, recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs. Under the guidance of coach Mangilal Salvi, the athletes showcased exceptional talent across various weight and age categories in both Gi and No-Gi divisions.

The medal winners from Udaipur include Bhavya Singh Dewda, Darsh Dangi, Charvi Sethia, Nayan Pandwala, Tarali Tak, Anjana Vaishnav, Virat Singh, Krishna Aswani, Anaya Rathore, Siya Aswani and Hemang Gayari. Together, they earned 8 gold, 10 silver, and 4 bronze medals, showcasing the strength and potential of grappling talent in the Mewar region.

Celebration & Welcome:

Upon their return to Udaipur, the athletes received a warm welcome by committee officials Payal Mehta, Rukmani Lohar, Kapil Tak, and the players' families. They were honored with garlands and traditional Odhna in a grand felicitation ceremony.
