Udaipur’s world-renowned craftsman and 100-time world record holder, Dr. Iqbal Sakka, has created a remarkable tribute for the 79th Independence Day. He has crafted the world’s smallest silver tricolour flag, measuring just 2 millimetres, and six miniature gold aircraft, each measuring 3 x 2 millimetres, to be presented to the National Gallery of Modern Art, Government of India, New Delhi.
Each aircraft, weighing 1 gram of gold, is named Shiksha Viman, Vigyan Viman, Kisan Viman, India Viman, Hind Viman, and Bharat Viman. These intricately enamelled models feature wings, wheels, and lights visible only with the help of a magnifying lens, appearing as though saluting the fluttering tricolour while soaring in the sky.
Dr. Sakka took 10 days to create these masterpieces, symbolising the pride and glory of the nation. A letter has been sent to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, to present these creations on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day.
