Protest Scheduled Against Misconduct with Former MLA Preeti Shaktawat

Udaipur,  Udaipur Dehat District Congress Spokesperson Dr. Sanjeev Rajpurohit stated that a protest will be held tomorrow, July 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM outside the Udaipur District Collector’s office to condemn the alleged misbehavior towards former MLA Mrs. Preeti Gajendra Singh Shaktawat by a police officer during a peaceful bandh in Vallabhnagar.

The bandh was organized in response to the unresolved theft incident that occurred over 13 days ago at the revered Sheetla Mata Temple, a prominent Shakti Peeth in Vallabhnagar. Dr. Rajpurohit expressed disappointment that the police have failed to make any breakthrough in the case, causing growing unrest among the local population.

During the bandh, the Station House Officer Dinesh Patidar allegedly behaved in an extremely disrespectful and insensitive manner towards the former MLA, which Congress leaders termed as an insult to an elected public representative and a blow to public trust.

The Udaipur City and Dehat District Congress Committees have called upon a wide range of party leaders and office bearers to participate in the protest. These include AICC and PCC members, former MPs and MLAs, party candidates, Zila and Block Presidents, Panchayat and Nagar Nigam representatives, as well as affiliated organizations such as the Seva Dal, Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, and NSUI.

The protest will culminate in the submission of a memorandum demanding action against the SHO for his misconduct with the former legislator.
