Udaipur, A special plantation drive was organized today at Government Meera Girls’ College, Udaipur, under the aegis of the Garden Development and Green Campus Beautification Committee as part of the ‘Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan’. During the event, dragon fruit plants were planted to create a dedicated dragon fruit orchard, aiming not only to enhance greenery but also to promote nutritional and medicinal benefits.
The plantation was inaugurated by the college Principal, Prof. Deepak Maheshwari, who addressed the students and emphasized maintaining the cleanliness of the garden and ensuring regular care of the planted saplings. He remarked, “Every plant is a life, and its care is our collective responsibility.”
Present on the occasion were Prof. Savita Chahar, in charge of the Garden Committee, along with committee members and faculty members Prof. Ashok Soni, Prof. Manisha Chaubisa, Prof. Sofia I. Hussain, Dr. Anju Beniwal, and Dr. Vartika Jain. All participants actively engaged in the plantation alongside students while highlighting the significance of environmental conservation.
The initiative aimed not just at beautifying the college campus but also at instilling a sense of responsibility and environmental sensitivity among students. The thoughtful selection of dragon fruit plants reflects the institution’s commitment to both ecological enhancement and practical utility. The program concluded with all participants taking a pledge to protect and nurture the newly planted saplings.
