A special lecture session titled "From Policy to Transformation" was organized under the aegis of ABRSM at APC College, Pratapgarh, marking the completion of five years of the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Rajesh Joshi, Deputy Registrar of Govind Guru Tribal University, who emphasized that NEP 2020 is designed to create skilled, innovative, and research-oriented youth, equipped to lead India into a self-reliant and globally significant future.
Prof. Joshi highlighted that NEP 2020 places strong emphasis on integrating innovation, research, and technology into the educational framework, while also nurturing a spirit of nationalism among students. He pointed out that the policy promotes a blend of science and spirituality, drawing inspiration from age-old Indian philosophies such as “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” (May all be happy) and “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The world is one family). These principles reinforce national unity and collective well-being as central themes of education.
He further stated that the effective implementation of NEP will serve as a catalyst in realizing the vision of a developed India by 2047. The policy aims to transform India's education system into a broad-based, multidisciplinary, and learner-centric model. Equal emphasis has been laid on accessibility, inclusiveness, and quality to ensure that students from all social and economic backgrounds receive equal opportunities.
Prof. Joshi also informed that, in the coming years, a uniform credit system will be implemented across all universities, enabling seamless mobility for students between institutions. He encouraged both students and teachers to share their insights on NEP through Google Forms, fostering participatory engagement in educational reforms.
In the next segment of the lecture, Assistant Professor Jitendra Kumar Kalal from Government College, Banswara, elaborated on how NEP 2020 has been crafted to address both national and international educational demands. He stressed that the policy is pivotal in making India self-reliant in defense, positioning it as a global manufacturing and export powerhouse. He envisioned a future where India reclaims its identity as the "Vishwaguru"—a global leader in knowledge and wisdom.
The event was presided over by Dr. Sanjay Gill, Principal of APC College, who welcomed the speakers and set the tone for the discussions. Dr. Gill acknowledged the transformative role of the New Education Policy in shaping a modern India. He expressed optimism that the policy would yield promising outcomes in the near future and enable the nation to face global challenges with courage and resilience.
The session was well-attended by faculty members, students, and education stakeholders who participated actively, signaling a strong interest in India's educational transformation journey.
