Dausa (Rajasthan). The much-awaited Panja Dangal Championship 2025 commenced with great enthusiasm and zeal in Dausa district. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. Amarika Singh, former Vice Chancellor of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, and presently the Chairman of RDjS Group of Institutions, Uttar Pradesh, as the Chief Guest.
The program was presided over by internationally acclaimed player and former District Sports Officer of Jaipur, Shri Gajendra Rathore. Distinguished guests on the dais included Jagjeet Singh Shekhawat, Inderjeet Singh Shekhawat, Mukesh Bhardwaj, Suresh Sharma (Editor, Punjab Kesari), Vishal Suryakant, and Radha Goswami.
The event was steered by Panja Dangal Convenor Pankaj Sharma, whose relentless efforts have led to the adoption of this traditional sport by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), a matter of pride not only for Rajasthan but for the entire nation.
In his address, Prof. Amarika Singh remarked, “It is indeed a proud moment for us that this ancient sport, once confined to village arenas, is now receiving recognition at the national level. Our next goal should be to work collectively towards securing its international identity.”
Presiding Guest Shri Gajendra Singh Rathore, in his speech, emphasized, “This is not merely a game of strength but also of technical skill and mental coordination. For this remarkable achievement, Pankaj Sharma truly deserves special appreciation.”
Suresh Sharma suggested that the sport should also be introduced at the school level so that the younger generation can learn, participate, and connect with this heritage discipline.
The program was conducted by Suresh Meena, while the guests were formally welcomed by Pankaj Sharma, Convenor of Panja Dangal League 2025. The grand event witnessed the presence of hundreds of school students and respected local dignitaries, making it a memorable beginning for the championship.
