‘वन क्षेत्र में आग प्रबंधन’ Discussed in Focused Meet

Udaipur,  The monthly meeting of Green Saviours Udaipur, a collective of retired forest officers, was held today at Aranya Kutir. The members discussed forestry activities and plantation plans proposed for the monsoon season, reaffirming their commitment to carry out plantation drives at selected locations this year.

The meeting was attended by retired CCF Rahul Bhatnagar, Indrapal Matharu, R.K. Singh, O.P. Sharma, Suhail Majboor, V.S. Rana, Brijpal Singh, S.S. Chauhan, S.N. Singh, Kesar Singh, Fateh Singh, Dalpat Singh, R.S. Chauhan, Omkarlal Menaria, Layak Ali, and Dr. Satish Sharma.

A key highlight was the detailed discussion on Dr. Satish Sharma’s 16th book, ‘वन क्षेत्र में आग प्रबंधन’, which explores the science and dynamics of forest fires. Dr. Sharma explained that the book covers the structure of forest fires, their spread in hilly terrain, characteristics of fire-loving plant species, and the impact of fire on flora and fauna. It also compares traditional and modern firefighting techniques.

Further, the book examines the effects of fire on nurseries, plantations, grasslands, and forests, along with the influence of valleys, hilltops, and local wind systems—both terrestrial and marine. The members highly appreciated Dr. Sharma’s contribution and congratulated him on the book’s publication.

The meeting concluded with a collective resolution to undertake tree plantation initiatives during the rainy season.
