"The Constitution is the Shadow of the Past and the Mirror of the Future" – Kachru Lal Choudhary

Udaipur – The Dehat District Congress Committee of Udaipur organized a seminar at the Dehat District Congress office in Surajpol, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution. According to Dr. Sanjeev Rajpurohit, spokesperson for the Dehat District Congress, it was on November 26, 2024, that the Constituent Assembly adopted the Indian Constitution, marking 75 years of its historic enactment. In line with the directions of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee, the Udaipur Dehat District Congress Committee held a discussion on "Constitution Day" at the Surajpol office.

The speaker at the event, Professor Dariyav Singh Chundawat, a member of the Pradesh Congress, emphasized that the Constitution is a sacred document for the nation. For Mewar, it is even more significant, as one of Mewar’s sons, Professor Balwant Mehta, was a member of the Constituent Assembly. He further highlighted that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, along with the Congress Party, played a crucial role in shaping the Constitution, ensuring that it would be a symbol of justice, equality, and fraternity. He also noted that the Congress-led governments at the center have consistently contributed to strengthening the Constitution and democracy, which has been instrumental in the nation's social, economic, and political progress.

Jagdish Raj Shrimali, former Vice Chairman of the Rajasthan Labor Commission and President of Rajasthan INTUC, addressed the gathering and said that it is our collective responsibility to protect the Constitution. He stressed the need to safeguard the democratic values set forth by the Constitution, which has fortified democracy and granted equality to all citizens. He urged everyone to pay homage to the great leaders who drafted this Constitution 75 years ago, which remains as relevant today as it was then.

While presiding over the seminar, Kachru Lal Choudhary, President of the Udaipur Dehat District Congress, stated that the Constitution is both the shadow of the past and the mirror of the future. He emphasized that the success and progress of any country depend greatly on the framework of its Constitution, and India has made remarkable progress since adopting its Constitution. He praised the Congress for its efforts, particularly during its longest tenure (around 60 years), in positioning India among the world’s leading nations. He attributed this success to the country’s Constitution.

Gulab Singh Rao, President of Gogunda B Block, said that Congress has played a vital role in uniting the country, which is also the core message of the Constitution. He expressed pride in the fact that every time Congress has been in power, the strength of the Constitution has only increased.

The seminar was attended by several notable leaders, including Kachru Lal Choudhary, Professor Dariyav Singh Chundawat, Jagdish Raj Shrimali, Gulab Singh Rao, Dr. Mahesh Tripathi, Shanta Prince (State General Secretary of Women’s Congress), Dr. Sanjeev Rajpurohit, Sundar Lal Meena, Dr. Leela Shankar Meghwal, Moti Lal Suthar, Dhanpal Jain, Ratan Lal Purbia, former councilor Madan Singh Baberwal, Mahendra Damor, Lokesh Meena, Logar Lal Gameti, and others.

After the seminar, a two-minute silence was observed in memory of the martyrs who lost their lives in the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks while defending the motherland. Additionally, Tulsi Ram Gameti, who was honored with a presidential award for preserving the country’s cultural heritage, was also felicitated.

Similarly, the Udaipur City District Congress Committee organized a seminar on "Constitution Day." 

Fateh Singh Rathore, President of the Udaipur City District Congress, remarked that the 75th anniversary of the Constitution's adoption is a milestone. He emphasized that the Constitution, created by our freedom fighters and great leaders, ensures liberty, equality, fraternity, and justice for millions of Indians. He further stated that the Constitution is the shield of millions of Indians, granting them fundamental rights, and vowed to protect it at all costs. Before the seminar, a tribute was paid to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar by garlanding his portrait.

The seminar was also attended by former Union Minister Dr. Girija Vyas, former MLA Trilok Purbia, PCC General Secretary Gopal Sharma, Udaipur City District Congress Organization Secretary Arun Tank, Block President Someshwar Meena, councilors Hidayatullah, Prashant Shrimali, Ravi Tarwadi, Gaurav Pratap Singh, Udaipur City District Congress Vice President Dr. Deepak Vyas, Treasurer Lavan Mugrdia, Mohammad Ayub, Chanda Suhalka, Ali Kausar, Siddharth Soni, Amit Srivastava, Yashwant Rajora, Shiv Shankar Menaria, Amit Suhalka, Banshi Lal Gawariya, Javed Khan, Mayank Khesra, Pankaj Pokharna, Ganesh Sharma, Suresh Solanki, Rituraj Mishra, and several other office-bearers and workers.
