Stone Mart 2024 to Showcase a Stone Market Extravaganza in Jaipur*

Jaipur, also known as the Pink City, will be hosting the 12th edition of India Stone Mart 2024, a four-day extravaganza starting from February 1st to February 4th. The event will see the participation of 411 exhibitors from India and abroad.

Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, Rajasthan's Minister of Industries and Commerce, highlighted the significance of the stone industry in the state. Rajasthan is renowned for its various colored stones, including pink, white, and grey, which have been used in the construction of many structures and religious sites both in India and worldwide. India Stone Mart aims to promote the rich stone industry of the state on a global platform.

The Minister mentioned that the event aligns with the Make in India initiative, spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized that such initiatives would strengthen the state's economy, create employment opportunities for the youth, and showcase the state's stone industry to the world.

India Stone Mart 2024 will witness the participation of 411 exhibitors, including 68 from Turkey, 5 each from Iran and Italy, 2 from the United States, and one each from Vietnam, Spain, Russia, Ethiopia, and China. The exhibition will feature a special gallery named 'Stone of Rajasthan' showcasing the exquisite stones of the state.

The Chief Secretary of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Ajitabh Sharma, mentioned that the exhibition would display a wide range of stones, including marble, granite, sandstone, Kota stone, slate, quartz, and various types of stone mining and processing machinery and equipment.

The event will also include the 'Jaipur Architecture Festival' from February 2nd to February 3rd, along with buyer-seller meetings and the Shilpgram exhibition. Interested participants can register online on the official website www.stonemart-india.in.

India Stone Mart, first organized in the year 2000, has successfully completed 11 editions. The event is primarily sponsored by the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO).

The Managing Director of RIICO, Sudhir Kumar Sharma, and the Commissioner of Industries and Commerce, Himanshu Gupta, were present at the inauguration ceremony. The exhibition is expected to contribute significantly to the stone industry and related activities in the state, furthering the government's efforts to boost economic growth.
