M.Sc. Chemistry Student's Research Paper Published in International Journal

Bhilwara – A major academic milestone has been achieved at the Department of Chemistry, Sangam University, Bhilwara, where a research paper authored by M.Sc. final-year students Ashna Shrangi, Vivek Pareek, and Tanishka has been published in a prestigious international journal. The paper, titled “Green Synthesis of ZnO Nanoparticles Using Leaves Extract of Quisqualis Indica (Madhumalti): Textile Effluent Treatment and their WQI Study,” highlights cutting-edge research in the field of green chemistry and nanotechnology.

The study focuses on the eco-friendly synthesis of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles using plant-based (green) methods. Specifically, the researchers used leaf extract from Quisqualis Indica (Madhumalti) to synthesize high-quality ZnO nanoparticles. These particles were then effectively applied to the treatment of textile effluent, demonstrating remarkable success in removing harmful dyes, organic compounds, and toxic chemicals from wastewater.

The ZnO nanoparticles showcased strong photocatalytic properties, enabling them to degrade pollutants in textile waste under sunlight or UV light, making them an ideal solution for environmentally sustainable wastewater treatment.

The research was carried out under the expert guidance of Dr. Pankaj Sen, Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry. The university administration, Head of Department, and faculty members congratulated the students on this outstanding achievement, calling it a matter of pride for the institution.

This recognition not only highlights the scientific caliber of Sangam University students, but also serves as an inspiration for young researchers pursuing advanced scientific research in the field of green nanotechnology and environmental chemistry.
