Udaipur Rural Congress President and Former Candidate Speak Out on Rally and Ticket Distribution Issues
Udaipur, Udaipur Rural District Congress President Kachru Lal Choudhary issued a press release clarifying that there was no factionalism in the Save the Constitution rally. He strongly refuted allegations of tribal neglect, calling them false, baseless, and motivated by personal interests, adding that such leaders are weakening the Congress Party for their own gain and family dominance.
Choudhary emphasized that the rally was a collective program of all Congress workers, held in Udaipur, while on the same day, a tribal conference was organized in Dungarpur under the leadership of the state in-charge and the state president. Most speakers at both events were representatives of the tribal community. In Udaipur, the rally featured addresses by tribal leaders such as Hiralal Darangi, Dr. Divyani Katara, Rupalal Meena, and Dr. Mangilal Garasiya. He said misleading the high command by falsely portraying division is a form of indiscipline.
Targeting former MP Raghuveer Singh Meena, Choudhary stated that Meena is creating a false narrative to gain sympathy and influence the leadership. He pointed out that the Congress Party has given Meena and his family numerous opportunities — his father Devendra Meena was made MLA four times, Raghuveer himself contested assembly elections six times from Salumber and was nominated for Lok Sabha three times, while his wife Basanti Devi Meena contested twice as a Congress candidate. Despite these chances, Congress has consistently lost from the region since 2013.
Choudhary added that in the Salumber by-election, candidate Reshma Meena actively campaigned, while Raghuveer Singh Meena participated only symbolically. He claimed Meena made minimal efforts even during PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasra's public meeting, and arrived late at the Udaipur rally — just before the arrival of the state in-charge and president, although the program had already begun at 5 PM. Therefore, expecting all latecomers to be given a speaking opportunity was not feasible.
He also condemned the unnecessary dragging of former PCC chief Dr. C.P. Joshi’s name into the controversy, calling it a deliberate political stunt aimed at damaging the party. Choudhary said he plans to visit Jaipur and Delhi soon to present the real picture before senior Congress leadership.
He also pointed out that the Congress leaders who went to Delhi claiming tribal neglect were the same individuals who had been rejected by tribal voters in three consecutive elections.
Reshma Meena, Congress candidate in the Salumber by-election, also blamed Raghuveer Singh Meena for misleading party workers by unnecessarily involving Dr. C.P. Joshi’s name and damaging the party’s credibility. She said she has already submitted a detailed report of his limited involvement during the by-election campaign to the party in-charge. She asserted that due to such half-hearted efforts, Congress had to settle for third place in the by-election.
In conclusion, District President Choudhary said those leaders who are now raising concerns in Delhi must reflect on why the tribal voters rejected them repeatedly, instead of making unfounded allegations and weakening the party from within.
