### Secretary-in-Charge T. Ravikanth Reviews District Situation

Udaipur, Principal Secretary, Mines & Petroleum Department and District-in-Charge Secretary T. Ravikanth chaired a review meeting on Saturday at the Collectorate mini auditorium. The meeting covered the review of monsoon-related damages and relief measures, along with progress on schemes such as Crop Insurance, Medical Facilities, Panch Gaurav Program, Shahar Chalo Abhiyan, Gaon Chalo Abhiyan, and Cooperative Membership Drive.

Monsoon Damages and Relief Proposals

District Collector Namit Mehta informed that heavy rainfall was reported in Kherwara, Jhadol, and Phalasiya, while other regions remained stable. Based on damage assessments in the first phase of rains, the PWD prepared proposals worth ₹8 crore under SDRF, most of which have been approved. Additional proposals of about ₹10 crore have been submitted for dilapidated schools, hostels, and hospital buildings, with further approvals sought under DMFT funds for school repairs.

The Secretary directed the Education and Health Departments to coordinate with PWD while preparing technical proposals to avoid delays in approvals.

Agriculture, Livestock, and Power Supply

Discussions included crop damage, crop insurance implementation, availability of fertilizers, and other essentials. The Animal Husbandry Department briefed about vaccination drives, fodder and medicine availability, and livestock losses. Officials from the Electricity Corporation provided updates on damages to power infrastructure during rains and restoration progress.

Water Bodies and Flood Safety

The Secretary reviewed the condition of lakes, dams, and ponds, including concerns over excessive rainfall and gate management. Feedback on water inflow and regulated discharge from Udaipur’s lakes was also taken.

Seasonal Diseases and Health Surveillance

He instructed ANMs, ASHAs, and community health officers to conduct door-to-door surveys, spread health awareness, and ensure timely updates. Local representatives, including sarpanches, were advised to assist in monitoring and reporting.

Promoting Panch Gaurav and Tribal Products

Reviewing the Panch Gaurav Program, Ravikanth highlighted the government’s aim to uplift social and economic living standards through it. He stressed on organized studies of tribal products like custard apple and mahua, ensuring structured development.

Swimming Talent Hunt Initiative

The Secretary also reviewed swimming infrastructure and talent in the district. District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal presented plans to convert the Khelgaon swimming pool into an all-weather facility, along with updates on outstanding athletes. Ravikanth suggested block and district-level competitions to identify new swimmers and assured CSR funding support. He stressed that Udaipur must set a goal to produce national and international-level swimmers.

Upcoming Campaigns: “Shahar Chalo” and “Gaon Chalo”

Ravikanth reviewed preparations for the Shahar Chalo Abhiyan (from September 15) and the Gaon Chalo Abhiyan (from September 18). He cautioned departments against treating these as routine exercises, emphasizing that camps must ensure 100% saturation of government schemes. Departments were instructed to identify eligible but excluded beneficiaries using the Jan Aadhaar database and focus on enrolling them during the camps.

Cooperative Membership Drive

The Secretary also reviewed the Cooperative Membership Campaign (October 2–15), which aims to establish LAMPS or PACS in uncovered villages and integrate small farmers into cooperatives. He directed maximum participation of small cultivators to extend the benefits of cooperatives to them.
