Lok Sabha Speaker to inaugurate 11th CPA India Region Conference in Bengaluru and address valedictory session on December 2025

The theme of the Conference is "Debate and Debate in Houses of Legislatures: Building Public Trust, Fulfilling Public Aspirations."

New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who is also the President of CPA India Region, will inaugurate the 11th Conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region at Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru on 11 September 2025.

During the inaugural session, Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah; Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Harivansh and other dignitaries will address the dignitaries present. Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly, U.T. Khader Fareed will deliver the welcome address and Secretary of CPA Karnataka Branch will deliver the vote of thanks.

Governor of Karnataka, Thaawar Chand Gehlot and Speaker of Lok Sabha, Om Birla will deliver valedictory session on 13 December 2025.

The three-day event (September 11-13) is being organised by the Karnataka Legislative Assembly under the aegis of CPA Karnataka Branch. Birla will also inaugurate an exhibition and release a souvenir on the occasion.

Presiding Officers including Speakers/Chairmen of Legislatures of States/UTs will participate in the inaugural ceremony being organised at Vidhana Soudha.

Presiding Officers of foreign parliaments as well as the President and Secretary General of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association have also been invited to the conference.

The theme of the conference is "Debates and Discussions in the Houses of the Legislatures: Building Public Confidence, Fulfilling Public Aspirations."

During the conference, delegates including Presiding Officers, Deputy Presiding Officers and Secretaries of Legislatures of various States/UTs will deliberate on issues of parliamentary importance. Plenary sessions will be held to exchange views and share best practices as well as discuss ways to strengthen parliamentary institutions in the India region.
