Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of Motilal Oswal Gyandeep Bhawan and Motilal Oswal Jyotisadan
Motilal Oswal Foundation has launched the project to build Rajasthan’s first degree-college along with a girls’ hostel for the visually impaired

Udaipur : The Hon'ble Union Home Minister of India, Shri Amit Shah,Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan andShri Gajendra Singh Shekawat, Minister of Tourism and Culture,today laid the foundation stone for Motilal Oswal GyandeepBhawan – college building for students with visual disabilities and Motilal Oswal Jyotisadan – hostel building for girl students with visual disabilities in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. These two landmark projects are dedicated to empowering visually impaired students.These facilities, created through the philanthropic commitment of the Motilal Oswal Foundation, marked the establishment of Rajasthan's first degree-college for the visually impaired and a purpose-built hostel for visually impaired girls.

The ceremony was held at NetraheenVikasSasthan, Chokha, Jodhpur, Mr. Motilal Oswal, Chairman of the Motilal Oswal Foundation, ShrimatiSushila Bohra, Founder President, NetraheenVikasSansthan, Mr. Anil Bohra, Chairperson, Shri Parasmal Bohra Collegeandother distinguished dignitaries.

Motilal Oswal GyandeepBhawanwill provide undergraduate programs in Hindi Literature, History, Political Science, Sanskrit, Music, and Sociology. The college building spans 1,580 sq. mtrs. and includes 10 modern classrooms. Motilal Oswal Jyotisadan, the girls’ hostel, covers 1,750 sq. mtrs. with 28 rooms, offering free accommodation, meals, and transportation to students from across India. These facilities are designed to remove barriers to higher education and foster self-reliance among specially abled students.

Mr. Motilal Oswal, Chairman of the Motilal Oswal Foundation, said, "Our philosophy of 'Learn, Earn and Return' has always guided us. Education is the cornerstone of equality and empowerment. Through these facilities in Jodhpur, we aim to create a world where visual impairment never becomes a barrier to academic excellence and professional success.”

Mr. Raamdeo Agrawal, Trustee, Motilal Oswal Foundation, added, "We believe in investing efforts where they matter most.Through the institutions in Jodhpur, we aim to give visually impaired youth in India the opportunity for higher education to grow, succeed and lead independent lives.”

Speaking at the inauguration,ShrimatiSushila Bohra, Founder President, NetraheenVikasSansthan said,““There is a kind of giving that lights the way for future generations. Since beginning with just two children back in 1977, NetraheenVikasSansthan has grown to serve over 1,250 students at eight institutions, helping those with visual, hearing, speech, and developmental disabilities to gain education and skills for independent, dignified lives. We deeply appreciate the Motilal Oswal Foundation’s support for Motilal Oswal GyandeepBhawan and Jyotisadan, and hope the Foundation continues its vital work uplifting communities.”

The college and hostel will collectively serve 250 students, providing academics andcomputer education, Braille resources, screen readers, an e-library, and opportunities in cultural, sports, and leadership activities.
