Udaipur. The CBSE National Chess Championship 2025-26, underway at MDS Public School, Udaipur, reached new heights on Wednesday with thrilling contests in the individual categories. Talented players from across India and abroad displayed exceptional skills, making the competition both intense and captivating for spectators.

Under-11 Category

In the Under-11 Mixed section, Krithik Muthukumar of Velammal School, Alappakkam showcased outstanding play. He was joined by Ilan Shafeeq (Indian School, Bousher) and Kavish Agarwal (DPS Sector-45, Gurugram), who also impressed with their performances.

In the Girls’ section, Marksim Karki Abirami Shriyukta (Indian School, Bousher) emerged as the winner, while Vanya Agarwal (Gurugram) and Aradhavi Mittal (Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura) also proved their talent.

Under-14 Category

In the Mixed section, Pavan Kartikeya Verma Gunturi (Sanghamitra School) claimed the top spot. Johan Jobsy (MES Indian School, Doha) and Pratham Nair (DPS Sector-45, Gurugram) also delivered praiseworthy performances.

The Girls’ section saw Stuti Nayak (Indian School, Bousher) take the win. Udaipur’s own rising star Kiana Parihar of MDS Public School was the highlight, delivering a remarkable performance that brought her close to the top position. With her resilience, sharp strategy, and composure against tough opponents, Kiana made the entire Mewar region proud.

Under-17 Category

In the Mixed section, Syed Abdul Khader (DPS Modern Indian School, Doha) secured victory, with Madesh Kumar S (Velammal School, Alappakkam) and Ajay Sandesh Parvatareddy (Sunbeam School, Annapurna Lahartara) also excelling.

In the Girls’ section, Shravanika A.S. (Velammal School, Mel Ayanambakkam) took the top spot. Yasawi Krishna Bommi (GEMS Our Own English High School) and Priyanka Rajan (Indian School, Al Ghubra) earned appreciation for their skillful play.

Under-19 Category

In the Mixed section, Velava Raghavesh (Indian School, Al Seeb) clinched first place, while Mrityunjay Mahadevan (Velammal School, Alappakkam) and Shaurya Dinesh Sawlani (Indian School, Muscat) delivered notable performances.

In the Girls’ section, Shaiby Binoj (Indian School, Muscat) emerged as the winner. Amulya Guruprasad (Velammal School, Alappakkam) and Aratrika Tyagi (SAJ School, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad) also left a strong impression.

Pride of MDS

The biggest highlight for the host school was the brilliant play of Kiana Parihar, whose grit, sportsmanship, and intelligence won admiration from all. Her near-top finish not only brought glory to MDS Public School but also to the entire city of Udaipur. The school management and faculty expressed pride in her achievement and extended best wishes for her future.
