Udaipur, A “Nutrition Awareness Program” was organized at Pacific Medical College & Hospital by the Department of Endocrinology and the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics. The program was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp before Goddess Saraswati by Pacific Medical University Vice Chancellor Dr. M.M. Mangal, PMCH Principal Dr. U.S. Parihar, Head of Medicine Dr. Girish Verma, Endocrinologists Dr. R.K. Sharma and Dr. Saurabh Gupta, Dietitians Jyoti Jaiman, Manisha Vyas, and Ayushi Kasera.
Dietitian Jyoti Jaiman delivered an insightful presentation on “Truths and Myths of Nutrition,” highlighting common misconceptions about diet and the importance of scientific knowledge in promoting health. She emphasized that a balanced diet not only improves overall well-being but also helps in the prevention of various diseases.
A panel discussion followed on the theme “Role of Diet in Prevention and Treatment of Diseases.” Dr. Saurabh Gupta elaborated on the significance of proper diet in managing endocrine disorders like diabetes and thyroid, explaining how tailored diet plans can improve patients’ quality of life. Other experts also shared insights on nutrition in conditions like obesity, heart disease, and hypertension, along with dietary needs for children and the elderly.
Dr. R.K. Sharma underlined that correct information and awareness about nutrition can transform individual lives and strengthen the overall healthcare system. He said such programs inspire society to adopt healthier lifestyles.
The program concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where outstanding participants were honored. On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, faculty members were also felicitated for their contributions.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from medical staff and students, who gained valuable insights into leading a healthy life through proper nutrition.
