Awareness Program on Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act Organized

Udaipur: The Department of Psychiatry at Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Umarda, organized an awareness program focused on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act (RPwD Act 2016). The event was held at the Anganwadi Centre and Government Primary School (branch of Fateh Senior Secondary), Kumawatpura, Shakha Chowk, Udaipur.

Guided by Dr. Praveen Khairkar (Professor & Head, Psychiatry Department), the session featured contributions from Dr. Priyanka (Psychiatrist), Dr. Divya (Junior Resident), and psychologists Indrapal Salvi and Tejendra Nath.

A total of 42 local women participated in the session, held in the presence of school teachers. Postgraduate students of PGDRP from MLSU’s Arts College also actively participated as volunteers, helping to spread awareness within the community.

An interactive quiz session was conducted to promote better understanding and inclusion of persons with disabilities. The initiative was well-received by the attendees and highlighted the ongoing need for community-based education and inclusive engagement.
