Udaipur : The two-day Learning Assembly of Rotary District 3056, titled ‘Ashok Smit,’ was successfully hosted by Rotary Club Udaipur Heritage. The assembly aimed to train the incoming Assistant Governors, Presidents, Secretaries, Directors, and District Officials who will assume leadership roles in the Rotary year 2025–26, commencing from 1st July 2025. The training focused on enabling them to efficiently plan and execute Rotary International-aligned programs throughout the year.
Assembly Convener and District Governor Nominee Deepak Sukhadia, along with Organizing Committee Chair Sanjeev Jodhavat, shared that the inaugural session's Chief Guest, Nathdwara MLA Vishvaraj Singh Mewar, urged all Rotarians to design impactful service projects tailored to the needs of specific communities, especially in the areas of education, healthcare, de-addiction, employment, and mental development, focusing on youth, women, and the elderly.
Flight Lieutenant K.P. Nagesh, Rotary International Director from Bangalore, was the inaugurator and keynote speaker. He reflected on Rotary’s 120-year legacy and emphasized the importance of innovation and excellence in community service as per contemporary needs.
District Learning Facilitator Ajay Kala presented the structure of the Learning Assembly. The session began with a tribute to Past Governors Dr. Ashok Gupta and Ramesh Chaudhary, acknowledging their contributions and expressing collective condolences.
Participants benefitted from the guidance of eminent Rotarians including Dr. Bal Inamdar (Mumbai), Mallin Bhai Patel (Past DG, Mehsana), Pinky and Jyoti Rai (Delhi), PDG Nirmal Singhvi, PDG Ratnesh Kashyap, Immediate Past DG Dr. Nirmal Kumawat, PDG Dr. Balwant Singh Chirana (Sikar), current DG Dr. Rakhi Gupta, DG-Elect Pragya Mehta, and Arun Bagadia, among others.
Padma Shri Shyam Sunder Paliwal, known for the Piplantri Model, detailed his initiatives and encouraged Rotarians to incorporate programs focused on water conservation, tree plantation, women empowerment, girls’ education, and organic farming in their club activities.
Notable contributions to the organization of the event came from Assistant Governor Jayesh Parikh, Committee Secretary Ashish Singh, Co-Chairman Deepak Goyal, Club President Dr. Deepak Sharma, Secretary Dr. Shailendra Somani, Treasurer Vijay Wadhwani, and active members including Dhirendra Sachan, Himanshu Choudhary, Rajkumar Taya, Saurabh Siroya, Vimal Dagliya, Jitendra Talesara, Vasant Khamesra, Gajendra Suyal, Dinesh Suhalka, Deepak Bhansali, Rishi Kothari, Anubhav Ladia, Pradeep Mehta, Atul Chandalia, Ravindra Parakh, and others. The event was anchored by Rajendra Sen.
Approximately 300 Rotarians from 85 clubs across cities like Jaipur, Kota, Sikar, Dausa, Banswara, Udaipur, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, and Malpura participated in the assembly.
