Udaipur, A massive protest was held today at New Campus, Udaipur, demanding that retired teachers and staff of all Rajasthan government-funded universities be paid pensions through the state treasury. More than 200 pensioners and active employees from Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, and Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner, raised slogans against the state government and university administration under the leadership of Dr. Surendra Kumar Bhatnagar, Bharat Vyas, and the President of the Non-Teaching Employees Union of Sukhadia University.
The Coordination Committee of Pensioners, Udaipur, highlighted that this protest is in support of the ongoing pensioners' movement at Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur, which has entered its 65th day. The protest also aims to press for a permanent resolution to the pension disbursement issue across all state-funded universities.
A meeting of the coordination committee was held on July 23, 2025, at the Pensioners Welfare Society office of MPUAT, where it was unanimously resolved to support the Jodhpur movement and intensify collective efforts.
From August 1 to 6, 2025, daily demonstrations will be held between 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM from the Art College gate to the CTAE Golden Jubilee Gate.
On August 5, 2025, a press conference will be held at 11:30 AM by committee officials to explain the pensioners’ demands, financial difficulties, and expectations from the government.
On August 7, 2025, at 10:30 AM, all pensioners and regular employees of state-funded universities in Udaipur will gather at the main gate of Rajasthan College of Agriculture. At 11:00 AM, they will march to the Collector’s office to submit a memorandum through a rally with slogans and demonstrations.
The Coordination Committee has appealed to all university units to widely circulate the program among their pensioners, faculty, and staff and ensure maximum participation to make the protest and rally a success.
