#### Student Union Elections and Help Desk Demand Raised in MP Dr. Rawat’s Public Hearing

Udaipur. Member of Parliament Dr. Mannalal Rawat conducted a public hearing on Monday at the MP office located in the Zila Parishad premises, where more than 100 grievances were submitted. Delegations from both urban and rural areas including Salumber, Sarada, Jaisamand, Jagat, Sayra, Gogunda, and Kotda reached the venue with their respective demands.

Among the key issues raised was the demand for student union elections by a delegation from Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU). The students emphasized the positive environment of discipline, peace, and academic activity that has prevailed in the university campus in the previous session. They stated that the time is right to reintroduce student union elections.

The students also demanded the establishment of a Student Help Desk in the university campus to assist students with administrative and academic processes.

In response, MP Dr. Rawat assured full support and informed the delegation that he would meet with Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Wednesday to present both demands—the reintroduction of student union elections and the creation of a Help Desk—strongly and effectively. He affirmed his belief that student union elections are vital for strengthening democratic values, and a Help Desk would enhance student support systems.

Several other public issues were also addressed during the hearing. Citizens raised concerns related to railways, roadways, and local development. One delegation complained about encroachment on public temple land near the Nagar Ghat at Ward 12, Chandpol, where an idol of Lord Mahadev had been damaged by a private businessman, potentially hurting religious sentiments.

A memorandum was submitted by players from the TSP (Tribal Sub-Plan) region requesting relaxation in sports criteria. They pointed out that due to lack of resources and opportunities, many talented players remain unrecognized, and seats reserved for TSP regions in past recruitments remain vacant. MP Dr. Rawat acknowledged the importance of the issue and promised to pursue a solution.

Villagers from Kojawada Panchayat demanded the approval for a road between Dhelani and Dhakalua Pareda, stating that students currently walk 5–6 kilometers daily to attend school.

A delegation from Bawlawada highlighted the poor condition of the local post office, currently operating from a dilapidated building. They requested it be shifted to a vacant room in the sub-tehsil office. They also demanded direct transport services between Bawlawada and Udaipur/Ahmedabad and the reactivation of local ATM facilities.

Concerns were also raised regarding the incomplete construction of the Kherwada–Garanwas stretch on National Highway 927-A, lack of boundary walls in primary and secondary schools in villages like Khatikmadi and Phalasia, and the need for street lighting, road construction, and tree plantation in the Vaidehi Vihar area.

Citizens from Pahada region reported unauthorized commercial use of drinking water through tanker supply. Rekha Verma from Mega Awas Society in Rakampura highlighted long-pending housing scheme issues, stating that no resolution had been offered by UAD since 2019.

Expression of Gratitude:
Bhagwat Singh Bhati from Sector 4 and his delegation thanked MP Dr. Rawat for initiating the undergrounding process of the 33KV power line—a demand they had placed in a previous hearing. They remarked, “If leaders continue to work like this, India can once again become the ‘Golden Bird’ and surpass even America in the next ten years.”
