Jaipur:In a significant late-night move on Saturday, the Bhajanlal Sharma-led Rajasthan government implemented a major administrative reshuffle, altering key positions across the state bureaucracy. The reshuffle affected 12 officers from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 91 from the Indian Police Service (IPS), and 142 officers from the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS).
Many of the transferred officers have been posted to critical districts and range-level responsibilities, indicating the government's intent to bolster administrative efficiency, enhance law enforcement, and ensure stringent policy implementation.
This reshuffle is being seen in the context of the upcoming municipal and panchayat elections, alongside the government’s broader agenda of accountability and good governance. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has emphasized that competent, impartial, and accountable officers should be appointed to sensitive roles to reinforce public trust.
34 SPs Transferred Across Major Districts
The police department witnessed transfers of 34 district Superintendents of Police (SPs) including those from Jaipur Rural, Sriganganagar, Sikar, Kota City, Ajmer, Sawai Madhopur, Jodhpur Rural, Jaisalmer, Banswara, Nagaur, Bharatpur, Tonk, Alwar, Dungarpur, Chittorgarh, Sirohi, and Pratapgarh.
Key changes in IG-level positions include:
Jodhpur Police Commissioner Rajendra Singh transferred as Ajmer Range IG
Bikaner Range IG Omprakash Pratham appointed as the new Jodhpur Police Commissioner
Jaipur Range IG Ajaypal Lamba shifted as SCRB IG
Bharatpur Range IG Rahul Prakash becomes the new Jaipur Range IG
In CM Security assignments:
IG Gaurav Srivastava, earlier in charge of CM’s security, is now Udaipur Range IG
Gaurav Yadav, former SP of Sriganganagar, appointed as CM Security Vigilance DIG

RAS Officers Posted in the Field
Among the 142 RAS officers transferred, 74 officers have been promoted from Assistant Collector to SDO posts, with most assigned field positions to enhance grassroots governance and streamline administrative operations.
Three IPS officers who were earlier awaiting postings have now been assigned key roles:
Deepak Kumar as IG, Home Department
Sharad Choudhary as IG, Police Training, Jaipur
Arshad Ali as DIG, Community Policing
This large-scale reshuffle signals a strong administrative overhaul with a focus on election preparedness, policy implementation, law and order, and restoration of public faith in governance mechanisms.
