Darshan Kumar Reacts Strongly to Sudden Cancellation of ‘The Bengal Files’ Trailer Launch

Mumbai: Actor Darshan Kumar expressed disappointment after the abrupt cancellation of the trailer launch for his upcoming film The Bengal Files, which was scheduled to take place in Kolkata. Known for his versatile talent and powerful performances, Darshan described the incident as “heartbreaking and shocking.”

Darshan emphasized the deeper significance of cinema, saying, “Films have always been more than just entertainment. They are an art form, a reflection of society, and a means to convey deep emotions, thoughts, and truths. Stories have connected, challenged, and inspired us since ancient times. As the saying goes, ‘Never judge a book by its cover,’ the same applies to films. A title is just the beginning; the true essence unfolds on the screen.”

He urged audiences to approach the film with an open mind before forming any judgments. “It is only fair that any story should be fully watched and understood before evaluation. That’s why not being allowed to launch our trailer in Kolkata was truly disheartening and surprising. As an actor, we put our heart and soul into our work. I have lived as Shiva Pandit for months. All we want is the opportunity to present our work, share it openly, and let the audience decide. Art deserves a platform, not silence,” he added.
