Udaipur, At the revered Ghatawali Mata Temple in Debari, Udaipur — dedicated to Maa Chamunda Devi of Mewar — a grand lion idol has been installed beside the towering trident on the hilltop. The massive iron structure has become a new symbol of devotion and reverence at the temple.
The lion, crafted entirely from iron, was designed and fabricated by Maa Bhavani’s devotee Kishanlal Lohar Rama in his workshop. The creation process took nearly 15 days, resulting in an idol measuring 13.5 feet in length and 7 feet in width, with a total weight of 550 kilograms including the stand.
With the divine blessings of the goddess, this colossal idol was manually carried by devotees to the hilltop near the trident, where it was ritually consecrated in the holy presence of temple priest Vardaji Bhopaji.
On this historic occasion, the event witnessed the gracious presence of Temple Committee President Kishor Singh, Malviya Lohar Samaj representative Bhawarlal Vallabhnagar, Laxmilal Losing, Devilal Boyna, and active members of the youth committee including Lokesh, Chetan, Prabhulal, Kantilal, Pintu, Harisingh, and Gopal, along with numerous devotees.
