Udaipur, The Contractual/SFS Employees’ Association of Mohanlal Sukhadia University has requested an appointment with the Hon’ble Chancellor to present issues faced by employees working under the self-financed advisory board of the university. A prior request for a meeting was made via email on July 28, 2025, during the Chancellor’s Udaipur visit, but no time was allotted. Hence, the association has sent another email seeking a meeting.
Narayan Lal Salvi, President of the Contractual/SFS Employees’ Association, stated that employees working under the self-financed advisory board had organized a peaceful sit-in from July 14 to July 24, 2025, in support of their five-point demands. These are as follows:
1. Immediate issuance of administrative and financial orders for the period from July 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, for all employees under the self-financed advisory board, as per state government-approved sanction letters.
2. Honorarium for contractual/SFS employees has not been increased for the past two years. An annual increment of 10% should be implemented.
3. Maternity leave orders should be issued for female contractual/SFS employees, as had been done in previous years.
4. Mrs. Kiran Kanwar has not received any work order for the past three months. A new work order should be issued to her under the advisory board.
5. The late Shri Prakash Nagda, who served the university for over 20 years, passed away at the workplace due to mental stress. The family should be provided compensation, and either his wife or son should be issued a work order under the advisory board to support the family.
In addition, a complaint was filed at the Pratapnagar Police Station on July 21, 2025, regarding the alleged misbehavior with contractual/SFS employee Mrs. Kiran Kanwar and a caste-based verbal and physical assault on Mrs. Baby Gameti. No action has been taken so far, suggesting possible administrative pressure on the police.
To raise these concerns formally, the employees’ association is seeking a personal meeting with the Hon’ble Chancellor.
