#####First Meeting of Accredited Journalists’ Association Held in Udaipur

Udaipur. The first meeting of the Accredited Journalists’ Association (Today) of Udaipur Division was successfully held on Saturday at the Information Centre, Chetak Circle. Accredited journalists from Udaipur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, and other districts of the division participated. The meeting was presided over by Vishnu Sharma Hitaishi, while the special invited chair was held by Chandrashekhar Verma, Editor of Abhiyan Aaj Tak magazine.

The gathering commenced with the ceremonial honouring of fellow journalists by draping them with traditional uparnas. Following this, introductions were made, and senior journalist and convener Lalit Chordia presented the framework of the organization. Discussions were held on the formation of the association, constitution, executive committee, and future meetings. Members also shared their suggestions for the development of the body.

A significant portion of the meeting focused on problems related to RGHS, medical diary, accreditation, and allotment of residential plots at concessional rates. It was collectively decided that a delegation would soon meet the Chief Minister of Rajasthan to present these issues. The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Arvind Mukhiya. Among those present were Shivanarayan Dabi, Rajendra Shekhar Vyas, Ramesh Acharya, Naresh Sharma, Mangilal Jain, Amar Singh Chawla, Kamal Manav, and several other journalists.

Decisions Taken for Submission of Memorandum to the Government

Concessional allotment of residential plots for accredited journalists in all municipal schemes.

Expansion of the RGHS scheme for journalists to include OPD facilities.

Full-day entry permission to Jaipur Secretariat instead of the existing 2 PM restriction.

Continuation of accreditation for resident journalists of Rajasthan even in cases of transfer to other states.

Early disposal of pending land allotment cases in divisional districts.

Provision of free travel for accredited journalists of Udaipur Division in RSRTC buses up to Ahmedabad.

Revival of the Volvo bus service on the Udaipur–Rajsamand–Jaipur route.
