#### Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin Visits City Palace, Meets Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar

Udaipur. His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the 53rd spiritual head of the Dawoodi Bohra community, visited the City Palace on Wednesday, where he was accorded a warm welcome by Shriji Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, scion of the former royal family of Mewar. On arrival, Syedna Saheb was honored with a ceremonial Guard of Honour in the palace courtyard.

The courtesy meeting, held at the Durbar Hall, Fateh Prakash, lasted for nearly half an hour. During the interaction, Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh presented Syedna Saheb with books on the glorious history of Mewar and showcased rare archival photographs and ancient records.

The two dignitaries engaged in a meaningful discussion about the historical and spiritual connections between the rulers of Mewar and the spiritual heads of the Dawoodi Bohra community.

Syedna Saheb’s visit reflected his deep affection and respect towards the Mewar royal family. Notably, several such visits have taken place in the past:

In 1866, the 47th spiritual leader, Syedna Abdul Qadir Najmuddin bin Syedna Tayyib Zainuddin, had met Maharana Shambhu Singh of Mewar.

In 1954, the 51st spiritual head, Syedna Taher Saifuddin, met Maharana Bhupal Singh at the City Palace.

Continuing this tradition, Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh himself met Syedna Saheb on three occasions between 2015 and 2022.

This latest meeting once again reaffirmed the age-old bonds of faith, culture, and mutual respect between Mewar and the Dawoodi Bohra community.
