Rotary District 3056 to Focus on Thalassemia Awareness and Prevention this Year: Pragya Mehta
Udaipur – The joint installation ceremony of Rotary Club Uday and Rotary Club Udyam was held today at Daulatgarh Resort, Udaipur. The chief guest for the event was Pragya Mehta, District Governor of Rotary District 3056.
During the ceremony, Mehta administered the oath of office to Raghav Bhatnagar and Lalita Purohit as President and Secretary of Rotary Club Uday, and to Vaibhav Sharma and Julie Marmat as President and Secretary of Rotary Club Udyam. In her address, she announced that Rotary District 3056 will focus primarily on Thalassemia awareness and prevention this year. She emphasized the importance of organizing more blood donation drives and promoting pre-marital Thalassemia testing across the district.
“Every Rotarian must carry the spirit of Rotary forward,” she said, encouraging members to broaden their thinking to achieve greater success in their service initiatives. She also highlighted that international friendship will be a key theme this year, and shared that the district is currently running service projects worth ₹90 crore.
Past District Governor Nirmal Singhvi inducted the new executive teams of both clubs, while PDG Dr. Nirmal Kunawat administered the oath to new club members. Singhvi also praised the outstanding service initiatives carried out by the district.
Assistant Governor Rajesh Chugh also addressed the gathering.
Newly elected President of Rotary Club Uday, Raghav Bhatnagar, stated that the club would primarily focus on healthcare and environmental projects, and aims to implement a large-scale project under the Matching Grant scheme to reach the underprivileged.
Vaibhav Sharma, newly elected President of Rotary Club Udyam, outlined the club’s annual action plan for the upcoming year.
On this occasion, both clubs jointly launched a poster highlighting their collaboration with LekMitra Blood Bank and other planned service initiatives.
The program began with a welcome address by outgoing Secretary Karan Garg, followed by a musical prayer presented as an invocation by club members. The event was attended by District Governor-Elect Deepak Sukhadia, Club GSR Dr. Seema Singh, Dr. Ritu Vaishnav, and several Rotary office-bearers and members from different clubs.
The event was compered by Shalini Bhatnagar and Yug Bhatnagar. The vote of thanks was delivered by Lalita Purohit and Julie Marmat.
