Kota, Rajasthan – On the occasion of the 15th National Organ Donation Day, Kota has become the first city in the state where certified family members of organ donors will be able to travel free of cost within Rajasthan. The initiative has been launched jointly by Shine India Foundation and Navrang Travels as a pilot project valid for one year.
As part of this initiative, two close relatives of a registered organ donor from the Hadoti division, verified by Shine India Foundation, can travel twice a month free of cost on Navrang Travels buses across Rajasthan. For this purpose, four seats have been reserved per trip – accommodating two families at a time. Prior registration with the foundation two days in advance is mandatory.
This unique social partnership was announced in the presence of SP Rural Sujit Shankar, Ashok Chandna (Owner, Navrang Travels & Jyoti Mitra of the Foundation), Nitin Gautam (Founder, Anurodh Foundation), and Dr. Kulwant Gaur. During the event, the official poster of the initiative was unveiled.
Ashok Chandna expressed pride in supporting the cause, stating, "No one better than Shine India Foundation could have led such a noble initiative that connects people to the spirit of service."
In addition, 20% discounts will be provided on all ticket types for close relatives of eye and body donors, again subject to verification by Shine India Foundation.
Shine India Foundation has been actively working since 2011 to promote awareness about organ donation and to give recognition and rights to donor families in the Hadoti region. Speaking on the occasion, Foundation members remarked that while such efforts ideally should come from the state government, they hope this initiative will inspire the authorities to launch similar benefits for donor families statewide in the future.
This step is being seen as a significant move toward recognizing the selfless contribution of donor families and promoting awareness about organ, eye, and body donation across Rajasthan.
