44th Free Panchakarma Medical Camp Begins Today

Udaipur,  The 44th Free Panchakarma Medical Camp has commenced today, August 4, 2025, at the Government Model Ayurvedic Dispensary, Sindhi Bazaar, Udaipur. The camp will continue until August 8, 2025, under the joint aegis of the Ayurveda Department, Udaipur, and the Arogya Samiti. This special camp focuses on Panchakarma, an ancient Ayurvedic detoxification and rejuvenation therapy aimed at treating Vata-related disorders naturally and holistically.

The central focus of the camp is Basti Therapy, which is considered the heart of Panchakarma treatment. As per Ayurvedic principles, Vata dosha becomes more active during the monsoon season, making this the most beneficial time for Basti therapy. This treatment offers significant relief in chronic ailments like arthritis, sciatica, back and joint pain, and neuromuscular disorders. Under the supervision of experienced Ayurvedic physicians, patients will receive diagnosis, consultation, and treatment during the camp.

Agni Karma Session on August 7

On August 7, a special session on Agni Karma, another traditional Ayurvedic therapy, will also be held as part of the camp. This treatment will be administered by renowned Ayurvedic expert Dr. Virendra Singh Hada. Agni Karma is recognized for its effectiveness in treating chronic and deep-seated Vata disorders.

Swarna Prashan Camp Boosts Immunity Among Children

Ahead of the Panchakarma camp, a Swarna Prashan Camp was organized on Sunday for children at the same dispensary. Children aged between 6 months and 16 years were administered Ayurvedic Swarna Prashan drops, which are believed to boost immunity and support mental and physical development. The initiative witnessed active participation from parents, who showed awareness about preventive health measures.

The Ayurveda Department and Arogya Samiti have been running the Swarna Prashan campaign for several years, and over 4 lakh children have received free doses so far. This initiative is aimed at strengthening immunity, improving memory, and promoting cognitive and emotional development in children while offering protection against seasonal infections.

Significance of Panchakarma and Basti Therapy

Panchakarma is regarded in Ayurveda as a comprehensive purification and healing system. Among its various components, Basti therapy involves the administration of medicated substances into the body to balance aggravated Vata dosha. It is considered highly beneficial for ailments such as arthritis, sciatica, paralysis, lower back pain, and nerve disorders.

During the monsoon season, the body's Vata levels tend to increase naturally, leading to an upsurge in Vata disorders. Hence, Basti therapy administered during this time helps in detoxification, strengthens the nervous system, and enhances immunity.

Camp Facilities and Guidelines

The camp provides free initial diagnosis, personalized medicine selection, expert consultations, dietary and lifestyle counseling, special consultation for female patients, and follow-up evaluations. Prior registration is mandatory, and separate arrangements have been made for patients with severe or contagious diseases. Pregnant women, extremely weak patients, and those suffering from bleeding disorders are advised not to undergo Basti therapy.

Speaking about the camp, Dr. Shobhalal Audichya emphasized that Panchakarma is not merely a curative process but a holistic system of healing that rejuvenates both body and mind. He urged the general public to take full advantage of this free camp and experience the benefits of scientific Ayurvedic treatments for a healthier life.
