#### CBSE National Chess Championship in Udaipur

Udaipur witnessed a vibrant display of intellect and strategy as the CBSE National Chess Championship 2025-26 entered its second day at MDS Public School. Under the welcoming theme of “Padharo Mhaaro Des,” 127 teams from across the nation and overseas engaged in intense battles of skill, focus, and perseverance.

The chess boards came alive with brilliant moves, as participants showcased not only their mastery but also the calm patience required in this mind sport. The audience encouraged every calculated move with resounding applause, adding energy to the competition.

Day Two Results:

Under-11 Mixed Category: 1st – Velammal School, Mangadu; 2nd – BDM International, Kolkata; 3rd – Khelgaon Public School.

Under-11 Girls: 1st – Velammal School, Mogappair; 2nd – Bal Bharti Public School, Pitampura; 3rd – Velammal School, Vangaram.

Under-14 Mixed Category: 1st – Velammal School, Alapakkam; 2nd – MES Indian School, Qatar; 3rd – Delhi Public School, Udaipur.

Under-14 Girls: 1st – Velammal School, Ayanambakkam; 2nd – Velammal School, Mogappair; 3rd – Sunbeam School Annapurna, Varanasi.

Under-17 Mixed Category: 1st – Bhavan’s Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir, Kolkata; 2nd – DPS, Qatar; 3rd – Velammal School Annapurna, Varanasi.

Under-17 Girls: 1st – Velammal School, Ayanambakkam; 2nd – Gems Our Own English High School, Dubai; 3rd – Delhi Public School, Sail Township.

Under-19 Mixed Category: 1st – Velammal School, Karambakkam; 2nd – Silicon City Academy, Bengaluru; 3rd – Abu Dhabi Indian School, UAE.

Under-19 Girls: 1st – Velammal School, Alapakkam; 2nd – Sunbeam School Annapurna, Varanasi; 3rd – Neerja Modi School, Jaipur.

The organizational excellence of MDS Public School stood out as a hallmark of the championship. From extending warm hospitality to visiting teams and dignitaries, to ensuring smooth arrangements for accommodation, meals, transportation, and sports management, every detail reflected meticulous planning. Strict discipline and security were ensured with a systematic ID card entry protocol for all participants.

CBSE Observer Kapil Sahu and Chief Arbiter IA Nilesh Kumawat lauded the precision, discipline, and flawless coordination demonstrated by the MDS team.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shailendra Somani, Director of MDS, expressed, “Chess is not just a sport, but a symbol of discipline and sharpness in life. Hosting such a prestigious national championship has given MDS the privilege of welcoming some of the finest young talents from across the country, which is a matter of immense pride for us.”
