Goswami Tulsidas and Premchand Jayanti Celebrated at Sangam University

On 31st July 2025, the School of Arts and Humanities at Sangam University celebrated the birth anniversaries of Goswami Tulsidas and renowned novelist Premchand with deep reverence.

On this occasion, Dean Prof. Rajeev Mehta emphasized that Goswami Tulsidas played a pivotal role in reviving Sanatan Dharma during the Mughal era, while Premchand highlighted the societal issues through his impactful stories and novels.

Associate Dean Dr. Zorawar Singh Ranawat remarked that Ramcharitmanas, the epic written by Tulsidas, has instilled moral values and cultural identity within Hindu society. He also called it a timeless literary masterpiece that continues to guide generations.

Chief Librarian Dr. Anil Sharma stated that Goswami Tulsidas is often considered a reincarnation of Maharishi Valmiki. He added that Premchand, within his short life of 56 years, authored over 300 short stories and more than 18 novels, playing a significant role in enriching Hindi literature and addressing social evils and reform.

The event was attended by faculty members including Dr. Abhishek Srivastava, Dr. Poonam Chauhan, Dr. Nirmala Rao, Shalu Agrawal, Aditi Naredia, Gopal Bhambi, and Purnima Pareek.
The event was moderated by Dr. Nirmala Rao, and a vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Abhishek Srivastava.
