15-Day Training Begins for Stitching and Skill Development

A 15-day stitching and skill development training program was inaugurated today under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan, jointly sponsored by the Directorate of Extension Education of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology and the ICAR-National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning (Regional Centre, Udaipur).

A total of 30 women from Scheduled Castes have enrolled for the training, aimed at promoting skill enhancement and self-reliance.

Empowering Women through Skill Development

The Chief Guest, Dr. Arvind Verma, Director of Research, emphasized that such training programs are vital tools for women empowerment, enabling participants to develop sustainable income sources and stand confidently in society.

Program Structure and Goals

At the start of the event, Dr. R.S. Meena, Senior Scientist and Nodal Officer of the SC Sub-Plan, presented a detailed outline of the training schedule and objectives.

Dr. B.L. Meena, Regional Centre Head, who chaired the program, stated in his address that their center had previously conducted similar training initiatives. Many Scheduled Caste women who participated earlier are now contributing significantly to their family incomes. He encouraged all participants to remain dedicated throughout the training and strive to emerge as successful entrepreneurs.

Training Supervision and Acknowledgment

The training is being conducted under the supervision of Dr. Latika Vyas, Professor of Home Science, Directorate of Extension Education.

In conclusion, Dr. Roshan Lal Meena, Senior Scientist, delivered the vote of thanks. The program was attended by all scientists of the center, along with Administrative Officer Mr. Unnikrishnan Nair and Technical Officers.
