Service Above All: Prashant Agarwal Urges to End Child Marriages

(mohsina bano)

Udaipur – On the first day of the five-day-long "Apno Se Apni Baat" program organized at Narayan Seva Sansthan to mark Akshaya Tritiya, Sansthan President Prashant Agarwal emphasized that those who have everything may not easily understand the pain of the differently-abled, but witnessing their struggles up close can move the hardest hearts.

He stated, "If even one member of a family is disabled, the entire family is affected. But when society steps in as support, the family regains its momentum." The event witnessed the participation of divyangjan (differently-abled individuals) and their family members from various states across the country. Many had come to receive corrective surgeries for polio or prosthetic Narayan Limbs for missing limbs.

Highlighting Akshaya Tritiya as a day of virtue and sacrifice, Agarwal called upon people to take a pledge to serve the underprivileged and suffering sections of society. "We may differ in caste, community, or family, but the bond of humanity is deeper and more meaningful. This bond inspires us to help one another," he said.

He stressed that service is supreme—a field where profit and loss have no place. For those who serve, nothing remains inaccessible. Their legacy remains immortal even after death. "The true worth of wealth lies in its use for the service of the poor, sick, and distressed. Those who dedicate their resources to public welfare achieve immortality," he added.

In conclusion, Agarwal strongly appealed to society to strictly prevent child marriages, which often take place on Akshaya Tritiya under the belief of an auspicious time. He reiterated that a happy family and society can only be built on the foundation of awareness and justice.
