Rotary Club Udaipur to Construct Another Moksh Rath for City Residents

Udaipur: The installation ceremony of the Rotary Club Udaipur for the year 2025–26 was held today at the Rotary Bajaj Bhawan. The chief guest and installation officer was former District Governor Nirmal Singhvi, and the special guest was Assistant Governor Anil Chhajed.

Nirmal Singhvi administered the oath to the newly elected president Deepak Mehta, secretary Vineet Damani, treasurer Ajay Agrawal, and other members including Nitin Kothari, Dr. Bharat Sarupriya, Shrichand Khathuria, Ajay Agrawal, Virendra Siroya, Dr. Anil Kothari, Subhash Singhvi, Mahendra Khamesra, Anil Chhajed, Naresh Singhvi, Kailash Karnawat, Puneet Babel, Surendra Jain, Sajjan Seth, Padam Dugar, Rakesh Maheshwari, Nakshatra Talesra, Satish Jain, Vivek Vyas, Gajendra Jodhawat, and Anshul Mogra. Four new members — R.K. Jain, Hitesh Sharma, Neelima Sukhadia, and Shripat Mehta — also took oath and joined the club.

On the occasion, President Deepak Mehta announced that due to the growing population of the city, another Moksh Rath (a mobile funeral vehicle) is required. With support from senior member Sajjan Seth and his family, a new Moksh Rath worth ₹18 lakhs will be dedicated to the public during this term. Additionally, the club will work on initiatives related to education, women empowerment, water conservation, and career guidance.

Assistant Governor Anil Chhajed highlighted that Rotary District 3056 will focus this year on the ‘Harit Ashok’ project to promote plantation drives, organize more blood donation camps for Thalassemia patients, and work towards water conservation.

Former District Governor Nirmal Singhvi mentioned that the club will work on a large-scale public welfare project this year by securing a global grant through CSR.

During the ceremony, the club distributed stationery to two rural government schools in Jhadol and Kailashpuri. Club bulletin editor Anshul Mogra facilitated the release of the club’s bulletin and committee book by office bearers and guests.

Alok Pagaria introduced the president and secretary, while Padam Dugar read out a letter of appreciation for the outgoing president. The event began with a devotional song by Kanta Jodhawat and concluded with a vote of thanks by secretary Vineet Damani. The event was anchored by Nirali Jain.
