### Inauguration of Udaipur–Chandigarh Rail Service

 

Udaipur. Taking a significant step towards the vision of Viksit Bharat – Viksit Rajasthan, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today, on 25th September 2025, inaugurated the first direct rail service between Udaipur and Chandigarh through video conferencing from Banswara.


 

On this occasion, welcome ceremonies were organized at Udaipur, Mavli Junction, Bhilwara, and Ajmer railway stations. At Udaipur, the event was held in the gracious presence of Udaipur MLA Shri Tarachand Jain, Udaipur (Rural) MLA Shri Phoolsingh Meena, Gogunda MLA Shri Pratap Gameti, Divisional Railway Manager Shri Raju Bhutda, along with other public representatives.

The ceremony was attended by nodal officer and Senior Divisional Personnel Officer Shri Raghuveer Singh Charan, Regional Manager Shri Mahendra Depal, railway officials, staff, and a large gathering of citizens. As soon as the Prime Minister flagged off the beautifully decorated train, the station echoed with applause and cheers of excitement.

Cultural performances were presented by staff and students of the Zonal Training Centre, Udaipur. Around 150 children from Oxford English School, Royan International School, and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sector 11 participated in an essay competition, and the winners were felicitated during the program. The children were also taken on a special inaugural train journey from Udaipur to Mavli, which filled them with immense joy and enthusiasm.

A similar program was held at Mavli station in the presence of local public representatives. Nodal officer and Senior Divisional Material Manager Shri Banshilal Meena, along with other railway officials and citizens, welcomed the train with flowers and cheers while extending gratitude towards Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw.
