Plantation Drive with Sanskrit Names Spreads Green Message during Sanskrit Week

Udaipur, As part of the ongoing Sanskrit Week celebrations, a plantation programme was organised on Sunday at Pratap Gaurav Kendra. To promote Sanskrit, the plants were labelled with their names written in Sanskrit.

On this occasion, saplings of Neem (Nimbavṛkṣa), Ashoka (Āśokaḥ), Rose (Pāṭalapuṣpam), Lemon (Jambīraphalam), Mango (Āmraphalam), Banana (Kadalīphalam), Pomegranate (Dāḍimaphalam), Jamun (Jambūphalam) and Ber (Badarīphalam), among others, were planted. Each plant’s Sanskrit name was pronounced aloud, and its meaning and significance were explained to the attendees.

The event was graced by Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth Vice-Chancellor Prof. Col. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot, Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, Badgaon social worker Jitendra Nagda, and Principal Shashank Tank. The guests jointly planted saplings, giving the message of environmental conservation and promotion of the Sanskrit language.

In their addresses, the guests stated that Sanskrit is not merely a language but the soul of Indian culture. Learning and using the Sanskrit names of plants strengthens the bond with both the language and nature. Plantation activities, they said, are an effort to leave behind a green legacy for future generations.

The programme was coordinated by Narendra Sharma, Shriyansh Kansara, Dr. Renu Paliwal, Rekha Sisodia, Dushyant Nagda, Narendra Sharma, Bhupendra Sharma, Sunita Sharma, Chain Shankar Dashora, Ravindra Singh Roopawat, and Kritikraj Singh Rathore, along with several local residents and volunteers.
