Modi Enhanced Women's Empowerment by Introducing Women's Reservation Bill: Gunjal

Kota: Thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts, the Women's Reservation Bill, which had been stuck for 20 years, was passed in the Indian Parliament on the first day of the new session as a tribute to women's power. The bill ensures 33% reservation for women in state legislatures and the Lok Sabha. This development has created an atmosphere of happiness and enthusiasm among women across India. The significant presence of women at the Kota State Assembly office during a meeting of women activists today was indicative of this. Kota North MLA Prahlad Gunjal addressed the meeting held at the Kota North office, where women activists were called. He stated that Prime Minister Modi has always been concerned about the safety and protection of women. Thanks to his efforts, the country's female population has finally benefited from reservations that were stuck for years.

Gunjal stated in his address that Prime Minister Modi's decisions have led to women expressing their gratitude. He said that while the government is addressing women's issues, especially cases of harassment and rape, there are ministers who make inappropriate statements about women regularly instead of focusing on women's safety. He mentioned that instead of discussing improvements and women's security, the government's cabinet ministers continue to make inappropriate comments daily. He noted that Rajasthan is ranked number one in cases of increasing rapes, branding Rajasthan as a state for men. Referring to the character assassination of a 16-year-old girl, who had complete faith in the government and ministers, he said that it is an insult to all mothers and sisters. Gunjal stated that the female population of Kota will take action against such ministers in the upcoming 'Matrishakti Sangam' to be held on October 17th.

Gunjal emphasized that the government's repeated inappropriate statements about women's issues have fueled tremendous anger among mothers and sisters. He declared that they will show the Rajasthan government, which is consistently silent on the rising rape cases in the state and allows its cabinet ministers to make derogatory remarks, a lesson. He urged women to participate actively in the forthcoming Matrishakti Sangam, and like the brave Chandibai who took to the streets earlier, they will also contribute to teaching the government and ministers a lesson. He said that the character assassination of a 16-year-old girl who was trusted by millions of parents is an insult to the entire 'Matrishakti' (women power).

Gunjal mentioned that whenever an issue related to women's honor arises, the government tends to respond with derogatory and offensive comments rather than addressing the matter seriously. He said that the derogatory comments have become a part of the minister's nature this time; however, women will treat themselves in the forthcoming 'Matrishakti Sammelan' by reprimanding the government and ministers. He stated that it is the government's attitude that has led to the anger and resentment among women activists. Gunjal said that a large number of women would participate in the Matrishakti Sangam, just like Chandibai did before. They would teach the Rajasthan government, which has allowed a 16-year-old girl to die tragically after being abused, a valuable lesson.

During the meeting held at Kota North BJP office, more than a dozen women Congress activists expressed their dissatisfaction with the minister's statements, left the Congress, and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Those who joined the BJP under the leadership of Prahlad Gunjal, Kota North MLA, included Kantavarma, Gulab Bai from Udiya Basti, and Santosh Bai, who works at the railway station, among others.

The meeting saw a large number of women activists in attendance, including Tanuja Khanna, Kali Bai Nayak, Meenu Barwa, Putra Vadhoo, former MP Oonkar Lal Barwa's daughter, Gulabi Bai Udiya, Santosh Barwa, Kusum Seni, Puja Suman, Pooja Kevat, Megha Gurjar, former councilor Hema Saxena, Madhu Kumawat, Dhapu Mehera, Mamta Mahawar, Sunehlati Krantikari, Vandana Agrawal, Meenakshi Gupta, Maya Sharma, Garima Soni, Hemlata Parihar, Sushila Sharma, Vaishali Jain, Prem Bai, Bardhi Bai, Nidhi Agrawal, Rinki Devi, Ladhi Bai, Geeta Bai, Kalavati, and Neelu Sharma, among others.
