New Delhi : On the 105th birth anniversary of Acharya Shri Mahapragya, the Government of India paid humble tribute to his divine soul by releasing a silver coin in his honor. A grand inauguration ceremony was held at PHD Chamber of Commerce in the holy presence of Dr. Muni Shri Abhijeet Kumarji and Muni Shri Jagrut Kumarji, disciples of Acharya Shri Mahashramanji.
The Chief Guest, Union Minister of Culture Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and the Special Guest, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Lahar Singh Sirohiya, graced the occasion. In his address, Shri Shekhawat described Acharya Shri Mahapragya as a great spiritual personality of this era, stating that the advent of such a spiritual master on this earth was indeed a blessing. He emphasized that Acharya Mahapragya gave the world a practical philosophy of non-violence and that Preksha Meditation, developed by him, is a highly effective and infallible meditative practice. Shri Shekhawat also praised the Terapanth Dharma Sangh for its devotion to the Guru and strict discipline. Inspired by Muni Shri Abhijeet Kumarji, he expressed his wish to visit Ahmedabad to pay his respects at the feet of Acharya Pravar.
Shri Lahar Singh Sirohiya remarked that Acharya Shri Mahapragya’s teachings would forever guide society. Muni Shri Jagrut Kumar paid floral tribute to the Preksha founder by leading the gathering through a short experiential session of Preksha Meditation. Sharing several personal memories, Muni Shri Abhijeet Kumarji also offered his homage, emphasizing the importance of embracing Acharya Mahapragya’s guiding principle of Nishesham in one’s life.
Shri Sukharaj Sethia, President of Jain Shwetambar Terapanthi Sabha, welcomed the dignitaries. The event was jointly organized by Delhi Sabha with the support of PHD Chamber of Commerce. Other distinguished speakers included Shri Kanhaiyalal Patwari, President of Bhagwan Mahavir Memorial Committee Delhi; Shri Mahendra Nahata, Managing Trustee of Jain Shwetambar Terapanthi Mahasabha; Shri Tejkaran Surana, Managing Trustee of Anuvrat Vishwabharti; and Shri Pannalal Baid, Vice President of Jain Vishwabharti.
South Delhi Terapanth Mahila Mandal presented the Mangalacharan, while East Delhi Kanya Mandal performed a graceful recital of Mahapragya Ashtakam. Renowned singer Abhilasha Banthia mesmerized the audience with her soulful rendition, creating an atmosphere filled with the spirit of Mahapragya. The vote of thanks was proposed by Smt. Sonali Patwari.
The program witnessed the presence of several eminent personalities including Smt. Suman Nahata, Vice President of All India Terapanth Mahila Mandal; Shri Hemant Patwari, President of PHD Chamber of Commerce; Shri Bajrang Bothra; Shri Jodharaj Baid; Shri Lalit Nahata and many others.
