Women Power Honoured on Rakshabandhan – Vasudev Devnani

Ajmer/Jaipur, The festival of Rakshabandhan was celebrated with great fervour in Ajmer on Monday, as hundreds of women gathered at Hans Paradise on Varun Sagar Road to tie Rakhi to Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani. The occasion, marked by expressions of sisterly affection, family bonding, and commitment to the protection of women power, witnessed women applying tilak to the Speaker and tying Rakhis, while receiving sarees as gifts in return. Snacks were also arranged, and women enthusiastically took photographs and selfies with Devnani.

Women from the Ajmer North Assembly constituency, including mothers, sisters, daughters, women officers, and members of social service organisations, participated in large numbers. While addressing the gathering, Devnani said that India has, for centuries, considered women power as sacred and worshipful. He recalled that in the thousands of years of the nation’s history and Sanatan culture, no ritual or occasion has been considered complete without the presence of women. From ancient times, women have contributed to every sphere with strength and dedication, and the country’s history is enriched with examples of brave, scholarly, and skilled women.

He further emphasised that the present and future of the nation are equally dependent on women’s cooperation. Today, women are bringing pride to India in politics, sports, education, science, foreign service, journalism, and the armed forces, with the world recognising their strength. Devnani urged women to pass on cultural values to future generations, inspiring their families to uphold the ideals of Sanatan culture. Cultured and capable citizens, he said, form the foundation of a strong nation, and the country will always remain indebted to its women power.

Throughout the programme, hundreds of Rakhis were tied on both of Devnani’s hands. In return, he assured the women of his continued commitment to their protection and to the progress of Ajmer.

The event was attended by former IAS Snehlata Panwar, ADM Administration Jyoti Kakwani, District Education Officer Usha Kachhawa, Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Kirti Kumawat, ADPC Leelamani Gupta, Women’s Engineering College Principal Prakriti Trivedi, HKH School Vaishalinagar Principal Jyoti Goyal, Draupadi Devi Sanwarmal Vidyalaya Principal Archana Agarwal, Mahila Morcha District President Bharti Srivastava, Councillor Ruby Jain, Hemlata Bansal, Anjali Dhanja, Panchayat Samiti Member Aruna Tak, Savitri Sharma, Radhika Soni, Anamika Sharma, Sheetal Sharma, Anuradha Pareek, Ritu Mamnani, representatives from Brahmakumari Institute, Radha Rani Temple Adarsh Nagar, Old Age Home Kotra, and many others.

Adding to the festive spirit, stalls of golgappas and coffee drew enthusiastic crowds, as women enjoyed refreshments and mingled in a joyful atmosphere.
