Pune–Ajni–Pune Vande Bharat Express, designated as Train No. 26101/26102, is set to commence its regular operations from Pune station on August 11, 2025, and from Ajni station on August 12, 2025. The train will operate six days a week.
Maharashtra is about to receive India’s longest-distance Vande Bharat Express, which will run between Ajni in Nagpur and Pune. This will also be the 12th Vande Bharat train for the state. The inauguration of this new semi-high-speed train is scheduled to be carried out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 10, 2025.
The operation and maintenance of the train will be undertaken by the Central Railway (CR) Zone. Covering a total distance of 881 kilometres, it will be the longest-running Vande Bharat train in India. With 10 stoppages and an average speed of 73 km/h, it will also be the fastest train connecting Nagpur and Pune.
