Development of Baghda Nature Park as a Prime Tourist Destination"

*Udaipur,  In a joint meeting of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) Committee and the Eco-Tourism Committee, held under the chairmanship of District Collector Arvind Posawal at the Collectorate Auditorium on Friday, it was decided to develop Baghda Nature Park, the district's exclusive crocodile park, into a new destination for tourists.

Hindustan Zinc Limited, through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, is implementing a Sewage Treatment Plant to purify the city's sewage water for reuse. Under the CSR program, an annual expenditure of one crore rupees is planned for the city's development. District Collector emphasized utilizing this fund not just for physical development but for activities that promote tourism.

The vision for Baghda Nature Park includes making it a wildlife tourism destination with renowned facilities for crocodiles, a jeep safari line, boundary walls, a bamboo plantation, a cheetah enclosure, a pond for mugger crocodiles, children's play park, watchtower, and a lake. The development plan is divided into two phases, and the Collector directed officials to commence the work in March.

District Collector Arvind Posawal highlighted the uniqueness of Baghda Nature Park, being the only crocodile park in the district. He emphasized that the creation of the cheetah enclosure would increase movement, adding a new dimension to wildlife tourism. The meeting discussed developing Baghda Nature Park as a prominent destination for eco-tourism in Udaipur and promoting tourism in Ubhayeshwar.

Key Officials present at the meeting included Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash, Deputy Forest Conservator D.K. Tiwari, Ajay Chittaur, Probationary IFS Officer Kumar Shubham, Additional Chief Engineer of the Municipal Corporation Mukesh Pujari, Smart City XEN Dinesh Pancholi, Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Hindustan Zinc Vijay Raman, and Ram Sharma, Assistant General Manager at Debari Plant.

Additionally, District Collector issued directives for the development of flowerbeds on selected main roads' dividers. A budget of 50 lakhs has been allocated for this initiative, intending to create attractive flowerbeds with various seasonal flowers. The aim is to make these dividers a center of attraction for pedestrians and tourists and give the city's roads a distinctive identity.
