Udaipur. The reverence for the Guru and the respect for the disciple — this is the soul of Indian culture. With this spirit, Bharat Vikas Parishad “Subhash” branch organized a grand Guru Vandana and Student Felicitation Program at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Pratap Nagar.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Hindi teacher Mr. Anurag, who introduced Dr. P.C. Jain, a distinguished member of the Parishad, known for his tireless efforts in drug de-addiction and water conservation campaigns and honored as a Water Hero. Dr. Jain delivered an inspiring message on drug awareness and led the audience in singing the patriotic song “Hum Karen Rashtra Aaradhan”, filling the hall with a sense of devotion and nationalism.
Emphasizing social harmony, the program began by honoring the cleaning staff, fourth-grade employees, and security guards. Members of the Parishad applied tilak, presented coconuts, and mementos as a token of respect — a beautiful example of inclusivity and gratitude towards every contributor of the institution.
This was followed by the felicitation of meritorious students:
Highest Scorers: Aina Khan (XI D) and Mahi Kothari (XI B)
Best Sportsperson: Gaurang Gurjar (XI B)
Best All-Rounder: Ishika (XI D)
All the awardees were honored with tilak, shawl (uparna), a symbolic memento, and a coconut.
The most touching moment came when each student stood before their respective teachers, applied tilak, offered uparna and a coconut, and bowed to touch their feet in reverence. The teachers, in turn, blessed their disciples for a bright future. The entire hall resonated with the spirit of devotion and gratitude — a living portrayal of India’s timeless Guru–Shishya tradition.
Mr. Rishabh Jain, State Coordinator of Bharat Vikas Parishad, highlighted that this program is part of a nationwide initiative to revive and celebrate the traditional bond between teachers and students.
The event was graced by Parishad members K.C. Malu, Rajendra Khokhawat, Shobha Lal Dashora (Secretary), Karanmal Jaroli, Raman Sood, Ashok Dhoopia, and Mrs. Tripta Chawla, among others.
This heartfelt celebration was not just a program of honor — it was a reminder that:
“Where there is respect for the Guru, there begins true learning.”
