President Smt. Droupadi Murmu honoured Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Shri Kunjilal Meena at a prestigious ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, recognizing Rajasthan’s historic achievement under the “Dhartii Aba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJYUA)”. The award was presented during the National Conclave of the ‘Aadi Karmyogi Abhiyan’ for Rajasthan’s exemplary performance in ensuring the reach of government welfare schemes and development initiatives to tribal communities.
The event was attended by Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Shri Jual Oram and Rajasthan’s Minister for Tribal Development Shri Babulal Kharadi.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the vision of “delivering every government benefit to the doorstep of every tribal citizen” has been brought to life, with Rajasthan emerging as the No. 1 state in India for effectively implementing tribal welfare schemes, grievance redressal systems, and timely delivery of government services in tribal-dominated regions.
The Dhartii Aba Abhiyan, aligned with the PM-JANMAN initiative, focuses on empowering tribal communities by enhancing awareness of their rights and government entitlements, ensuring inclusive development, and encouraging innovation at the grassroots level.
Speaking after receiving the award, ACS Kunjilal Meena shared that the campaign has covered over 63,000 tribal-dominated villages across 549 districts in India. It includes 29,000 habitations belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) spread over 207 districts. The mission has been a nationwide awareness and benefit saturation drive, ensuring last-mile delivery of government welfare schemes.
The objectives of the mission include spreading awareness about individual rights, entitlements, and flagship government schemes, ensuring door-to-door delivery of documents and benefits, and promoting participatory governance through community mobilization.
Additionally, the campaign has focused on empowering tribal youth as digital warriors and agents of change, conducting SCD (Sickle Cell Disease) screening, awareness programs, and counseling at the village and habitation level.
Through its impactful execution, Rajasthan has set a national benchmark in tribal welfare, empowerment, and inclusive governance under the Dhartii Aba Abhiyan.
